Waterfalls come in all different varieties, and they’re all beautiful in their own way, whether they’re huge, small, skinny, etc. Believe it or not, some of the most impressive and breathtaking waterfalls are found right here in the U.S., so why not visit them all? Here’s a list of the top 11 most remarkable US Waterfalls.

1. Niagara Falls

Coming in at #1 on our US Waterfalls list is this beauty, known as the most powerful waterfall in North America, Niagara Falls is located on the border of the U.S. and Canada. You may not know, however, that it is actually made up of three waterfalls, including Bridal Veil, American Falls, and Horseshoe Falls.

 

2. Havasu Falls, Arizona

Havasu Falls is hidden between the red cliffs and caverns of the Havasupai Tribe Reservation in a remote part of the Grand Canyon. Although it may be hard to reach, it is well worth it to see the falls plummet into the blue-green water of Havasu Creek from 90 feet up.

 

3. Palouse Falls, Washington

Palouse Falls

Visit this top US waterfall at sunset to see the spectacle of light and shadow reflected on the walls of the canyon. It’s located in Palouse Falls State Park, with campgrounds, trails, and picnic tables.

 

4. Yosemite Falls, California

Yosemite Falls

One of the world’s tallest waterfalls, this one is 2,425 feet and is made up of the Upper Falls, Lower Falls, and Middle Cascades. The best time to visit this top US waterfall is in the spring when the melted snow from the mountains strengthens the flow of the waterfall.

 

5. Ramona Falls, Oregon

Find this beautiful waterfall along the Ramona trail in Oregon’s Mount Hood Forest. Although it may not be very tall at 120 feet, this is a special waterfall as it is surrounded by a thick and mossy forest.

This 145-foot waterfall is located deep inside a cave in Chattanooga. Ruby falls has been impressing visitors for over a century. Today, the beauty of this US waterfall is enhanced by colorful rays.

 

7. Alamere Falls, California

Alamere Falls

Alamere Falls, known as “tidefall,” flows right into the Pacific Ocean in Point Reyes National Seashore, north of San Francisco. The eight-mile hike to reach the falls from the trailhead is definitely worth the effort.

 

8. Snoqualmie Falls, Washington

Snoqualmie Falls

This place attracts more than 1.5 million visitors each year, making it one of Washington State’s most popular attractions. The area has plenty of hiking trails, an observation deck, and the Salish Lodge, located right at the top of the falls.

 

9. Grand Falls, Arizona

Grand-Falls

Although this waterfall is not widely known, it is even taller than Niagra Falls. Located in Arizona’s Navajo Nation, the Grand Falls is an expansive stretch of water that flows into the Colorado River. It has a brownish color and is often referred to as the Chocolate Falls.

 

10. Multnomah Falls, Oregon

Multnomah Falls

Thanks to the state of Oregon, Multnomah Falls has easy visitors access, including a footbridge that allows people to cross the waterfall. It’s the tallest waterfall in Oregon at 611 feet, and is easy to get to!

 

11. Alaka Falls, Hawaii

Akaka Falls

At 420 feet, this waterfall flows year round and is completely secluded in a thick rainforest. Although it is isolated, it’s easily accessible from a paved path.
