1. Spend a Sunday in a park
One of the most important French traditions is the sacredness of Sundays. No self-respecting French person will waste a Sunday on anything but spending time with loved ones, relaxing, and enjoying life. Since everything is closed anyways, head to a park with a book and a pastry and let yourself enjoy that French joie de vivre.
2. Drink wine on the banks of the Seine
While it’s technically illegal to drink alcohol in public in France, no one ever enforces this rule. At night, you can find people sitting by the banks of the Seine with a bottle (or two). What better place to enjoy one of the best things this country has to offer than in the glowing light of the river?
3. Bike/ride around the city
Renting a Vélib’ bike or a motorbike to ride around the city is one of the greatest ways to see it. Parisians love their bikes (both motorized and non-motorized), and it is said that this is the greatest way to get around the city.
4. Spend a day in a cafe
Ever wondered why all French intellectuals are linked to a specific cafe? People watching, reading, and pondering about life in a cafe terrace is a national pastime. Make sure you partake on this and let yourself be inspired by the city!
